I spent a good chunk of my 20s and early 30s traveling to different parts of the world on volunteer projects, ranging from serving Native American tribes in South Dakota to underprivileged youth in Mongolia.  It was on these trips I started thinking about investing as a potential tool to uplift communities.

I moved out to Bay Area with pretty much one suitcase (and my fair share of student debt) to work as an unpaid intern at an impact fund.  While living on my friend’s couch for six months was not fun, it was an incredibly rewarding experience and the best career decision I made.
