God as Father and Friend

At the end of every podcast, we like to ask our guests to share what God has been teaching them in this season of life. This week’s guest is Casey Crawford, the CEO of Movement Mortgage, which employs more than 4,500 and has over 650 locations in all 50 states.

Isaiah 41:13

For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

You know, I came out of sports. My whole life was defined by sports, which is one hundred percent performance-based. You are your value to the team. 

But as a follower of Jesus, my value is in him. And so much of my life has been oriented to God as father. And seeing that Heavenly Father approval and knowing that I have a best friend. His name is Jesus. And that concept of Jesus as friend is understanding that He is walking with me daily, that He will never leave me, that he will never forsake me. Yeah, he might lead me through a valley, but he's going to be there with me and love me unconditionally along the way. 

That has been something that God's been showing me and revealing to me this year. He’s my heavenly father. And there's a lot of richness to that relationship. Also, I have a friend in Jesus. He's a best friend. He's never gonna leave me. So, I really get to rejoice in that and rest in that and find peace and hope and comfort in that.
